Discussion with World-Renowned Artist Giuseppe Tedeschi of the Holy City





Conte Gr. Cr. Prof. Dott. Giuseppe Tedeschi was appointed ‘Attaché of the Antechamber of His Holiness’ and nominated in this office in the Pontifical Family by His Holiness Saint John Paul II on 18 November 1986. For this reason, his office has taken part in state visits since 1986 including receiving heads state government, ambassadors, and Papal functions and ceremonies at the Holy City. Cultured Focus Magazine had the pleasure of speaking with the world renowned artist on his passion for his craft and motivation for inspiring the world. He spoke with journalist EKaterina Shevliakova in the heart of Rome for an exclusive interview for our readers. STUDIES AND PICTORIAL ACTIVITIES


Tedeschi began his artistic-pictorial training from a very young age both with the study of drawing and painting and restoration techniques (with Roman school masters). He graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, with the Masters Ziveri (first two years) and Avenali (second biennium) in 1981. His thesis was in art history entitled "History of costume and clothing through painting from the 16th to the 18th century ". He specialized, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in Artistic Anatomy, Engraving Techniques, Art History, Theory of Perception and Psychology of Form, Pedagogy and Teaching, Photography, Design and Various Sculpture Techniques. He won the state competition for the role of teaching in the State School (Competition class XXXIV / A) for Artistic Education. Over his professional career, he has participated in numerous exhibitions and reviews, obtaining significant recognition from nationally renowned institutions and made numerous official portraits located in the Vatican. His artistic works have also appeared in historical embassies such as the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See Palazzo di Spagna, in official palaces and galleries such as the Boncompagni Ludovisi portrait gallery, the Palazzo Altieri collection of the Finnat Bank, the military ordinariate of Rome, the convent of Trinità dei Monti above Piazza di Spagna in Rome, and others including private collections.

He had the prestigious honor of having His Holiness Pope Francis donate one of his works, the icon of St. Francis of Assisi, to the Franciscans of Ireland on his historic visit to that country.

Additionally, he is the Master Painter of Metaformismo ®, a leading exponent of the Metaformismo movement created by Prof. and art critic Giulia Sillato, and has participated in many national and international exhibitions.
