Agnes Joy is an Icelandic drama film directed by Silja Hauksdóttir. It was selected as the Icelandic entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards.


Synopsis:

Rannveig is experiencing burnout in all aspects of her suburban everyday life. Stuck with a job she hates and in a stagnant, slow dying marriage to Einar, she also constantly fights her rebellious daughter Agnes and will not bearing to face the possibility of her growing up and leaving her behind. When a well-known actor moves in next door, both Rannveig and her rebellious daughter Agnes (Donna Cruz) become interested in him. Rannveig has to admit her powerlessness when she and her family are forced to confront new challenges in their relationship.
