St. Thomas University Hosts Dialogue on Navigating Faith, Media, & Fashion in the Shadow of Antisemitism.
In a concerted effort to confront the urgent issue of antisemitism and foster meaningful dialogue, St. Thomas University proudly announced its event, Words Matter! Navigating Faith, Media, and Fashion in the Shadow of Antisemitism. The event will took place on January 25th, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at St. Thomas University Gus Machado College of Business.
Initiated by Dr. Hagai Gringarten and Professor Ashlee Rzyczycki, both esteemed professors at St. Thomas University, in collaboration with the Institute of Interfaith Leadership, convened the interdisciplinary gathering with an aim to address the pressing issue of antisemitism. The event featured distinguished speakers committed to fostering understanding and combating antisemitism. Invited speakers included representatives from StandWithUs, the Mayor of Miami Beach, Camera, HonestReporting, Mr. Marc Karimzadeh (Editorial and Communications Director from the Council of Fashion Designers of America - CFDA), Tobi Rubinstein (Host of THE FASHION FOUR and Best-Selling Author of "The House of Faith and Fashion: What My Wardrobe Taught Me About G-D"), a respected Rabbi and Fashion Leader, and George Feldenkreis, CEO at Perry Ellis International.
The objective of Words Matter! was to facilitate an open conversation on the impact of language and media representation on various faith communities. Members of the community and students joined in this important dialogue with the hope of fostering an important discussion on antisemitism given the current climate in the country and bringing like minded individuals together for unity.
