The Blackhouse Entrepreneur Series: Filmmakers Discuss Hollywood in an Ever-changing World
The Blackhouse Foundation introduces The Blackhouse Entrepreneur Series.
The Entrepreneur Series aims to help participants pivot or stay the course in the current ever-changing social, political and business environments and better understand how being entrepreneurial creates more opportunity for critical impact, success and career longevity. Entrepreneurship will be discussed against the backdrop of escalating social unrest and injustice and the global pandemic impacting our communities. The conversations aim to be insightful and inspirational. The Blackhouse Entrepreneur Series was created by Blackhouse Board members Datari Turner, Pauline Fisher and Carol Ann Shine.
Cultured Focus Magazine met up with the Blackhouse leadership team members Brickson Diamond and Pauline Fisher to discuss the inspiration behind their new program and what filmmakers and artists can look forward to in the coming weeks in the series. For the full interview, please visit Youtube here.
For the inaugural Entrepreneur Series event, which launched Tuesday, June 16th, 2020, industry leader and Blackhouse Board Member Pauline Fischer sits down with Oscar nominated and award winning producer, director, and entrepreneur Reginald Hudlin for a candid conversation about current events, the impact on storytelling and Hollywood, and how we can all emerge from this moment able to thrive and seize the opportunities and responsibilities that will come. Mr. Hudlin is the creative force behind some of the most engaging, political and provocative projects representing our voices and images ever made including the upcoming Safety, The Black Godfather, Django Unchained, House Party, and Boomerang, among many others. He also served as the first President of Entertainment at BET and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, wisdom and perspective to this conversation. The video session can be viewed on the Blackhouse Foundation Instagram page.
