Global Short Film Awards Announces Best Short Film During Cannes Film Festival 2024

The Global Short Film Awards (GSF Awards) announced that short film, Beyond, took home the title of Best Film at its 9th annual gala in May 2024.
The black-tie gala, held concurrently with the Cannes Film Festival, recognizes excellence in short films. Entries from across the world are permitted, most notably in a variety of categories spanning the United States, Italy, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, the Russian Federation, Mexico, China and Canada. The event was hosted by Emmy Award-winning actor and producer, Vincent DePaul.
Along with a variety of exciting partnerships and sponsorships, the gala hosted musical performances by Ricardo Marinello, Yola Nash, Mia Wallace, Beatrice Turin, Lubovnicca, and Cecilia Hererra. In addition, the night included a luxury fashion show by designer and GSF Director Andres Aquino, a silent auction to benefit Pink Ribbon Monaco, and international DJ Somnous.

The GSF Awards were first established in 2015 to recognize short films that were under 15 minutes in length. The nominations are judged by a panel of experts and the winning films may be screened in New York City or other locations. In addition to screenings, winning films or their trailers are also screened in Cannes. The yearly event takes place in Cannes, France and includes a red-carpet event.
